For the last 10 years, the Renova Energy Racing team has powered its dragsters with 98% ethanol. The ethanol fueled cars get up to 100 extra horsepower compared to high-performance gasoline, minus the downside of fuel system maintenance needed for a methanol-fueled engine.

Part of the Renova Energy team's mission is to educate the public about ethanol and alternative-fueled vehicles. At every opportunity, the team distributes promotional material and addresses questions regarding the performance of ethanol as a fuel. The team has helped many people convert their racing engines to run on high blends of ethanol, just as the team members have promoted the fuel at numerous industry conferences and workshops.

Team owners Schwartzkopf Racing and Slatten Racing also work together to develop an engine program using nontoxic, renewable and environmentally friendly ethanol.

Renova Energy of Torrington, WY sponsors the Renova Energy Racing team and produces the ethanol used in Drag Racing.
