It wasn't the first racing sweepstakes he'd entered, but the "Race to Go Green Sweepstakes" was the first big win for Jeffrey Carter of Lawrenceville, IL. The grand prize turned out to be "a memory I won't forget," he said. And neither will his brother, Buddy, chosen to share in the winning experience that took place on his birthday.

The Carters' "Race to Go Green Sweepstakes" Grand Prize package included:

  • Airfare and hotel
  • Race tickets
  • The Ultimate IndyCar® Experience
    • Ride in the IndyCar 2-seater
    • Pace car "hot lap" ride
    • Pit passes
    • Meet the Team Ethanol driver, Ryan Hunter-Reay
  • Spending the day with the Rahal Letterman Racing team and touring the RLR garage

The Carter brothers enjoyed their VIP treatment and access. Jeff called his event-packed day "unforgettable" and named the hot lap ride in the Indy pace car as the highlight. "It's something totally different going 110 (mph) and knowing they go over 200." Hear the entire interview

Brother Buddy claimed "it was a helluva way to spend a birthday." When asked to list his most memorable moments, he said, "I got to see Gene Simmons and meet Bobby Rahal – but not in that order."

The Carters saw the finale of Dario Franchitti's winningest season. The Canadian Club driver took four Indy Racing League races including the Indy 500, and claimed the IndyCar Series Championship title.

The "Race to Go Green Sweepstakes" was sponsored by the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council, IndyCar Series, Sinden Racing Service and Rahal Letterman Racing.
